Phishing
Scam where attacker fakes a site or message to steal your keys.
Phishing is one of the most common threats in the crypto space. An attacker creates a fake site or sends a message that looks like legitimate communication from an exchange, wallet, or project — the goal is to trick users into entering their seed phrase, private key, or credentials.
Most common forms of crypto phishing:
•Fake MetaMask/Ledger popup requesting seed phrase
•Email "from Binance" with link to fake site
•Discord/Telegram bots offering "free tokens"
•Fake Google ads for crypto sites
•"Customer support" requesting wallet access
Golden rules:
•Always check the URL — bookmark legitimate sites
•No legitimate service ever asks for your seed phrase
•Use a hardware wallet for larger amounts
•Enable 2FA on all exchanges
