Hardware Wallet
Physical device storing private keys offline — the most secure way to store crypto.
A hardware wallet is a physical USB-like device that stores private keys completely offline (air-gapped), protected from internet attacks.
How it works:
•Private keys never leave the device
•Transactions are signed inside the device
•Displays transaction details on its own screen — protection against clipboard hijack attacks
•PIN protection and option to wipe after too many wrong entries
Most well-known:
•Ledger Nano X/S+ — Bluetooth, supports 5,500+ cryptos, ~$150
•Trezor Model T/Safe 3 — open source firmware, touchscreen, ~$80–200
•Coldcard — Bitcoin-only, most secure for Bitcoin maximalists
•GridPlus Lattice1 — corporate-grade security
Recommended:
•Buy only from official websites — not Amazon or eBay
•Check it's sealed on delivery
•Never enter seed phrase into a computer or phone
