Market Capitalization
Total market value of a cryptocurrency — price × circulating supply.
Market cap (market capitalization) is the total value of a cryptocurrency, calculated as: current price × circulating supply.
Example: Bitcoin price $60,000 × 19.7 million BTC in circulation = $1.18 trillion market cap.
Categories:
•Large cap (>$10B) — Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB. Less volatile, more liquid, more stable.
•Mid cap ($1B-$10B) — Solana, Cardano, DOT. Balance of risk and potential.
•Small cap (<$1B) — Small projects, high risk, high growth potential.
•Micro cap (<$50M) — Specialized, illiquid, potential 10x but also total loss.
Remember: high market cap doesn't necessarily mean a good project — it just means a lot of money invested.
