Blockchain

A distributed database that stores all crypto transactions.

A blockchain is a distributed ledger that records all transactions in a chain of cryptographically linked blocks. Each block contains a set of transactions, a timestamp, and the hash of the previous block — making it nearly impossible to retroactively alter data.

The blockchain is decentralized — a copy is held by thousands of computers (nodes) around the world, with no single central server. This makes it resistant to censorship and hacking.

Beyond financial transactions, blockchain is used for smart contracts, NFTs, voting, identity verification, and many other applications.
